Both kids had their double headers cancelled today. Just too much mud to play safely.
Both played Thursday with different results. Hannah's team got their first win in their new league. It is against other 10 year old girls and Hannah's 8 year old team gave a good pounding.
Hannah did get her first hit. She hit one that the shortstop couldn't handle, then stole second and third. On her steal of third, the ball hit her but like a ball player, she shook it off and stayed in the game.
Connor's team had a much different result. His team was on the wrong end of a beating against one of the better teams in his league. He grounded out in his only at bat and never had the ball hit to him in the field.
He did leave the game happy as he was able to see his first action on the mound. He loves to pitch but rarely gets the opportunity. In the final inning, his team just couldn't get that final out. After a few walks, the coaches called on Connor to finish the game. He came in, threw one pitch and the inning was over. I guess that's a pretty good percentage of pitches to out ratio.
